Bartok: AKC BIS GCH CH Seng Khri Bartok at Dawa - "CHIC#52124"
Ch. Strazce z Tibetu Mimayin x Ch. Bohemia Sirague Oggi
We were truly blessed to have Bartok in our lives and are ever grateful to his breeder, Eva Marton. He was a once in a lifetime companion and had the commanding presence of a Tibetan Mastiff described throughout history. Bart made an instant impression on everyone who saw him. He had an exceptional head, flawless movement and he loved competing. Shows were all a big game to Bart who loved spending time with his buddy, Ed. After a weekend at the shows, Bart would sleep till noon on Mondays.
Bart had a heart as big as Mount Everest and a memory longer than most. People who met Bart saw a stoic dog with a protective demeanor who was discerning when it came to the circle of people that he trusted and allowed into his personal space and world. Bart never forgot and could tell with a sniff of the air friend from foe. He was a brave soul who would no doubt have given himself to protect his people. He was the ultimate alpha dog at Dawa, which he accomplished just by his sheer presence, without resorting to growls or any other show of dominance.
The few people who were included in Bart's inner circle often were able to see another aspect of him. Bart was often goofy and downright silly, like a big puppy who delighted in dancing around while playing. He loved chomping on his toys and throwing them high in the air. Those who chuckled at his antics were rewarded with soft kisses.
Bart was as all Tibetan Mastiffs should be: a protector, a fearless companion and a silly puppy.
In a little less than two years as a special, Bart won 10 BIS, placed in the Working Group 108 times defeating 27,936 dogs. He is the top winning TM of all time. He was the #6 Working Dog in 2010 and #20 in 2009. He is also the only TM to win BOB at Westminster and Eukanuba.
In February of 2011, Bart was taken from us unexpectedly. He succumbed to Cryptococcus Gatti (necropsy report
